Hi! My name is Megan, and welcome to my Bible study blog.
My first leap into daily Bible studies was through Joyce Meyer’s Enjoying Everyday Life podcast during my morning commute. The one thing she continually teaches that has stuck with me was that it’s great to listen to her podcast and go to church. But to truly know the Word of God and its meaning in my life, I would need to study the Bible in my own time.
That’s what I began doing. Until one day I looked up and had all these notes I’d scribbled down. I knew I couldn’t keep these thoughts to myself and that I needed to share them.
And so A Fruitful Christian online bible study blog was born. A weekly Bible study on living the nine Christian virtues of the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
How to use the blog:
If you haven’t guessed it yet, my blog primarily focuses on the nine Christian virtues – the fruits of the Holy Spirit – covered in Galatians 5: 22-23.
Each week I’ll post a Bible verse covering one of the virtues along with my interpretation of the verse and how I think it fits into our daily lives. I am by no means an authority on everything that has been recorded in the Bible, and I often have to read how others have interpreted the verses in the past. You can find the websites I use most often on my Resources page.
I use the Good News Bible. It’s a Bible I’ve been using since I was a kid, and it’s followed me all my life. There were moments where I thought I’d lost it in between house and apartment moves, and my mother even bought me a new Bible before I travelled overseas. But my childhood Good News Bible has always found me.
Each post will also include a weekly affirmation. I recently wrote an ebook about affirmations. I often think of them as prayers that I recite to myself as often as I can. I’m a big believer in positive thought and co-creating my universe with God, and before I began this Bible study blog, I knew I wanted to incorporate affirmations into as many new projects as I could.
I really hope you enjoy this Christian Bible study blog, and some of the free goodies I offer, like the monthly Bible reading plan.
