So what exactly are the fruits of the Spirit? They can be found in Galatians 5: 22-23 and are nine attributes of living a Christian life.
“You will know them by what they do. Thorn bushes do not bear grapes, and briars do not bear figs. A healthy tree bears good fruit, but a poor tree bears bad fruit.” – Matthew 7: 16-18
These nine attributes can sometimes be visible characteristics. But most importantly, they are the qualities God wants us to practice in our daily lives so that they eventually become a part of our personalities.
These fruit, or characteristics, don’t come from us. They come from the Holy Spirit. Which means we need to work with the Holy Spirit. We were made in God’s likeness, so the fruits of the Spirit are also God’s divine qualities. He passed them on to the Holy Spirit to pour down on to us.
